Group 4 Selected to Design New Scotts Valley Library
The Scotts Valley City Council unanimously selected Group 4 as the architect for the community's new library. The project involves the transformation of the Scotts Valley Sports Center into a 15,000 square foot branch of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries system. Roosevelt Community Center wins highest SCVURPPP award
The Roosevelt Community Center has been awarded the highest honor within the public projects category by the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program. This award recognizes the project's creative and comprehensive approach to stormwater management, which includes vegetated and cobbled swales, pervious paving, and integrated public art that daylights the stormwater filtration process.

Roosevelt Community Center named APWA National Project of the Year
The Roosevelt Community Center has been named Project of the Year within its category* by the American Public Works Association. This award recognizes the exceptional partnership between the City of San José, West Coast Contractors, and Group 4's architectural and engineering team.

Milpitas Public Library recognized by the American Institute of Architects
The Milpitas Public Library has been honored by the East Bay Chapter of the American Institute of Architects with a Merit Award. The distinguished jury panel included Daniel P. Gregory, Duke Reiter FAIA, and Anne Schopf FAIA. The project will be included in a display of award-winners at this year's AIA national convention in San Francisco.

Group 4 to present at CPRS
Group 4 is presenting two sessions at the 2009 California Park & Recreation Society conference in Santa Clara.

  • March 5, 8:15 a.m. - Positioning Community Recreation Projects for Success - Wayne Gehrke (Group 4), Dawn Merkes (Group 4), and Carlene McCart (City of San Rafael) will discuss how to assemble resources and build support for capital projects.
  • March 5, 2:45 p.m. & 4:15 p.m. (two part session) - Creating Sustainable Recreation Facilities and Operations - Dawn Merkes (Group 4), Ashwini Kantak (City of San Jose), Marie Alberry-Hawkins (City of San Jose), and Lauren Livingston (The Sports Management Group) will discuss how to create environmentally and operationally sustainable recreation facilities.

Grand opening of new Milpitas Public Library a success
