Pinole Senior and Community Center

The Pinole Senior and Community Center provides a complete range of facilities such as a 4,000 sf main banquet hall, a kitchen, an arts and crafts room, a classroom, a kiln room, and a leather working room. A feeling of openness in the lobby is created by a vaulted ceiling and connects with activity rooms and offices while acting as the social center. The building is proportioned to fit within its residential context and was designed to accentuate a sense of being both indoors and outdoors, including a close link with the neighboring and newly-refurbished Fernandez Park. A footbridge from the center across the creek to the park creates a physical and visual relationship between these two public places.
