Solano County Library Facilities Master Plan

The Solano County Library Facilities Master Plan defines a vision for library service based in a strategic visioning workshop in which library management, city and county officials, and community representatives gathered to determine how to meet changing needs and increased community expectations for libraries. A subsequent needs assessment, facility evaluations, and extensive public participation led to the master plan recommendations for expanding, renovating, relocating, and adding libraries in the fast-growing county.

Less than one year after completion of the master plan, four out of the five recommended Phase 1 projects had moved into the facility planning stages. Group 4 developed the conceptual design for the renovation of the Fairfield-Suisun Community Library. Group 4 was also commissioned to design the new Fairfield Cordelia Library, which opened in 2006.
